Starship Rocket Boat

Premier Coating Solutions recently had the chance to work on the Bay Rocket, one of Tampa Bay's newest attractions. Our team went through a thorough process to ensure the boat was in its best condition. We started by using abrasive blasting techniques to remove all existing coatings and nonskid materials from the vessel. Then, we carefully pressure washed the entire boat to prepare it for the coating phase.

 

To begin the coating process, we marked the new water line and applied a high-build Epoxy system. This system provides excellent durability and protection against the elements. Above the waterline, we used a UV resistant Low sheen polyurethane that not only enhances the boat's appearance but also safeguards it from UV radiation.

 

For the areas below the waterline, we used a combination of High build Epoxy and a Metal-free antifouling solution. This combination was specifically chosen to prevent any potential electrolysis issues that may arise due to the boat's Aluminum Hull. By using these coatings, we ensured that the Bay Rocket would remain free from fouling and corrosion, allowing for optimal performance and longevity.
